Small enough to care and big enough to deliver

The authorization and the placing of plant protection products in the market is regulated by Regulation (EC) 1107/2009 of 21 October 2009.  This Regulation shall applied to products with the following uses:

  • protecting plants or plant products against all harmful organisms or preventing the action of such organisms, unless the main purpose of these products is considered to be for reasons of hygiene rather than for the protection of plants or plant products;
  • influencing the life processes of plants, such as substances influencing their growth, other than as a nutrient;
  • preserving plant products, in so far as such substances or products are not subject to special Community provisions on preservatives;
  • destroying undesired plants or parts of plants, except algae unless the products are applied on soil or water to protect plants;
  • checking or preventing undesired growth of plants, except algae unless the products are applied on soil or water to protect plants. EN L 309/6 Official Journal of the European Union 24.11.2009

A plant protection product is not approved until the active substance is added to the positive list of the ECHA.

LAUS and cooperating laboratories are your partner when it comes to the registration of new pesticides or even to the re-registration of already registered plant protection products. We offer you the necessary tests of the 3 different zones specified in Annex I to Regulation (EC) 1107/2009 (North, Central, South) according to the principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP). Due to our wide range of analytical equipment, we can examine formulations in various matrices and support you with ILV studies (Independent Laboratory Validation) according to SANCO/ 3030/99 as well as with the performance of residue studies.
We also assist you in the registration of biopesticides (from plants, fungi or bacteria) to conduct the necessary studies and the corresponding analytical measurements.

We support you with the registration in the EU or worldwide with competent partners:

  • Analytical Chemistry
    • Chemical Identity
    • 5-Batch Analyses (Active Ingredient and Impurities)
    • Development and Validation of Analytical Methods
    • ILV Studies (Independent Laboratory Validation)
